Crystal Guide
The stone of love and self-compassion
Rose Quartz is known everywhere as the stone of love. Its gentle pink colour has made it a symbol of romance, friendship and, just as importantly, love for yourself.
It is one of the most popular crystals to give as a gift, and a natural first crystal for anyone new to working with stones.
Meaning
The properties traditionally associated with Rose Quartz across crystal and spiritual practice.
Traditionally used to attract love, deepen existing relationships and encourage kindness.
Associated with self-acceptance and gentleness toward yourself.
Often chosen after heartbreak or loss as a comforting, soothing presence.
Placed in living spaces and bedrooms to encourage a warm, loving atmosphere.
A Rose Quartz pendant worn over the heart is the classic choice. A bracelet on the left wrist keeps its gentle energy close, and a pencil point in the bedroom brings warmth to the space.
Like Amethyst, Rose Quartz can lose some colour in harsh sunlight. Moonlight and smoke are the best ways to cleanse it.
Care
Cleanse your crystal when it first arrives, then every few weeks or whenever it feels dull.
Hold it under cool running water for a minute, then pat it completely dry.
Pass it through the smoke of incense, sage or palo santo while setting a clear intention.
Recharge it overnight under the moon. Avoid long hours in direct sun, which can fade its colour.
Rest it on a Selenite plate overnight, one of the easiest ways to cleanse and recharge any crystal.
Shop our Selenite plates and crystal bowls for easy cleansing at home.
